If I'm writing about religion, maybe I should mention the bad aspects of religion too.Let me start by expressing how deeply confused and repulsed I am by the evil during World War II that meant the demise of 1.1 million Jews at the concentration camp in Auschwitz, Poland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auschwitz). Perhaps this is why my favorite book that talks about the horrors of Auschwitz is Maus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maus) by Art Spiegelman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Spiegelman).
